1st Bangor responded well to the prior weekend's hammering by St.Pats by knocking 5 past a decent Kelvin side at the Drome on Saturday.
Kelvin came to the Drome with an impressive run of form seeing them likely contenders for promotion to 1C next year. However, 1st Bangor, bruised after last week's mauling, were in no mood for a repeat performance.
1st Bangor started the brighter and might've taken the lead several times with front pairing McCracken and McPhillips both drawing good saves from the Kelvin keeper. The deadlock was eventually broken though when Johnny Hill kept his cool to fire home a composed finish after latching onto a rebound from another McCracken effort.
Kelvin though responded well and soon had the equaliser when their left winger found himself in acres at in the box and able to knock the ball past McIlveen in the Bangor goal.
McCracken though, in fine goal-scoring form since joining the club, reinstated 1st Bangor's lead turning home after great wing play from Oliver.
In the second half, 1st Bangor continued to press for more and Oliver soon had his own name on the score sheet, blasting the ball past the Kelvin keeper to make it 3-1. 4-1 followed as McCracken grabbed his second before Kelvin nabbed another to make it 4-2.
I can't remember who scored the 5th so I am giving it to C Scott - what a player.
Also, great to see Graham Best back in action following several prolonged absences - great performance in left-back.
